Hello there. For readers and friends, I am Yannis. My birth name is slightly different, but seems to be very confusing for most people. So, let’s stick to that for simplicity.
In this site, I screw around with ideas that excite me. Personal goal is to go into lanes where I can develop marketable skills and create an artificial pressure that fuels creativity.
I produce varied photography and drawing content, and much of my creations are inspired by the works of great digital artists and places which I visit. My work is grounded in my engineering knowledge, a reasonable amount of philosophy and a good swath of literature. I’ve been sketching for a long time, and never had the chance to take photography classes.
Just like everyone else, I am often buffeted in feelings, chips of resentment, ego and fears. Speaking up about issues that trouble me is a way to overcome pent-up frustrations, which is why I think it’s important to open up. I am bringing all that stuff together in this website and making a case for the psychological necessity for motivation, responsibility and consistency.
Building this website is part of my craft, which needs caring to retain its relevance and vitality. When I feel like I’m succeeding in it, the visuals will get better. And since I am driven by change, it’s likely that HorizonKick will never get its final form.

About Horizon Kick
Back in 2014, a jumping pose at the Blackpool beach looked like kicking the horizon. There was a striking realization that a future avocation would be named after Horizon Kick, which inspired the creation of a portfolio website a few years later.
Apart from a portoflio, HorizonKick is a proclivity to express that there is no short road to drop the old habits. To communicate this, original content is created on a regular basis and it’s used by people as an inspiration referral. If this content ever inspires a visitor to expand his own interests or even start a new hobby, I’d be the happiest person on the planet.
The website will progressively become a digital store for high-quality creations, including digital illustrations, 3D models and animated films. The creation of a physical store with a slightly different purpose in mind is also underway.
It’s all about walking the walk – not just talking the talk.

The last objective is to spread the feel that Horizonkick signals positive intent. That’s not only important for developing a presence, but also to further the networking and business opportunities. I will go with the wind, and the wind does whatever the fucking wind does. It changes.
On the way to exploring whether limitations are self-imposed or not, the next chapter entails experimentation with alternative photography themes, drawing software and stimulating blogging topics. It doesn’t necessarily help to lead the life any better, but rather helps to better understand it.
Personal aspiration is to produce thought-provoking digital illustrations that reflect easily a recognizable style. It’s gonna be hard and, most importantly, it’s gonna take time.
